About the book

Beware! Writers on the loose! Seven of France’s top literary authors–Tatiana de Rosnay, Didier Van Cauwelaert, Yann Queffélec, Daniel Picouly, Christine Orban, Irène Frain, Harold Cobert–got together to play a collaborative writing game resulting in fifty-two wacky stories. They each wrote an episode, one starting, passing it on to the other, and onward, setting traps, having fun, and trying to cleverly continue someone else’s story. The result is a collection of stories, some are zany, some are clever, some are just plain weird, but all show the incredible creative skill of these seven very fine writers.

About the translator

The translator, Anne Trager has lived in France for over 26 years, working in translation, publishing and communications. In 2011, she woke up one morning and said, “I just can’t stand it anymore. There are way too many good books being written in France not reaching a broader audience.” That’s when she founded Le French Book to translate some of those books into English. The company’s motto is “If we love it, we translate it,” and Anne loved the idea of these great writers getting together and playing with creativity.
